Villa Altenburg is situated in a tranquil park on the outskirts of Pößneck. Built in the 1920s as an industrialist's villa, it is now a small boutique hotel with a personal atmosphere.

The hotel features fourteen individually designed rooms with high ceilings, large windows, and historic details. Many rooms overlook the park, providing peace and a welcome escape from everyday life.

The villa includes a restaurant serving seasonal cuisine. Many of the products are sourced from the region surrounding the Orla Valley. The cooking is done using traditional methods, and the menu is intentionally concise and reflects the seasons. Weather permitting, guests can also dine on the terrace in the park.

A conservatory, a lounge with a fireplace, and a bar invite guests to linger. The villa has been personally managed for many years and is known for its tranquil atmosphere, attentive service, and relaxed stay.

The surrounding area offers numerous opportunities for excursions. The Rennsteig hiking trail is about 45 minutes away. The Hohenwarte Reservoir, with its hiking and cycling trails, is also nearby. Towns like Neuhaus am Rennweg and Lauscha, with its glassblowing tradition, are easily accessible.
