 Summary

Nestled in the Ötztal Valley, Rifflsee is renowned for its picturesque landscape and excellent snow conditions. With a mix of runs suitable for all levels, it attracts both beginners and seasoned riders alike.

The ski area of Rifflsee is in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 1,740m, with 45km of marked runs.

Rifflsee is part of the Pitztal ski area with access to 48km of downhill skiing, with 40 marked pistes, served by a total of 22 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Rifflsee itself (45km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Pitztal ski resorts of HochZeiger and Pitztaler Gletscher.

The ski resort itself is at 1,740m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,800m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Skiing

Rifflsee boasts a ski area that extends up to 2,500 meters in elevation, featuring about 30 kilometers of ski runs. Notable pistes include the family-friendly 'Gletscherbahn' and the challenging 'Rifflsee-Abfahrt,' with efficient lifts like the 'Rifflseebahn' providing quick access to the slopes.

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Rifflsee is Innsbruck Airport, 90 minutes drive away.

St. Gallen-Altenrhein, Memmingen, Bolzano and Munich airports are all within three hours drive.

Rifflsee is easily accessible from Innsbruck Airport, about 80 km away, with scenic routes leading through the Ötztal Valley. Alternatively, you can reach the resort via train to Ötztal Bahnhof, followed by a short bus ride.

Ski Lift Capacity

The five ski lifts are able to uplift 20,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow Making

Snow-making is available, on 6km of ski runs, with 18 snow cannons.

Season Dates

When is Rifflsee open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is early December, and usual closing is Early April.

NOTE:- Ski area, lift and piste opening is subject to Current Snow Conditions.

Aprés Ski

After a day on the slopes, unwind at the cozy 'Panorama Restaurant' or enjoy drinks at 'Rifflsee Bar.' These spots provide a vibrant atmosphere to relax and socialize.
