Skiing

Chalmazel features the Mont de la Madeleine, with a vertical drop of 600 meters and 20 kilometers of pistes. Notable runs include the green 'Les Vallons' and the challenging 'Les Crêtes,' serviced by efficient lifts like the Grand Panoramic and the Montagne.

There is skiing to suit a range of abilities.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Chalmazel is Saint-Étienne, 58 minutes drive away.

Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon Bron, Lyon St-Exupéry, Grenoble, Chambery, Annecy and Brive airports are all within three hours drive.

Saint-Étienne is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

Chalmazel is accessible via Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport, approximately a 2-hour drive away. The route via the A72 motorway is the most direct, providing easy access to this charming resort.

The eight ski lifts are able to uplift 4,500 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 6km of ski runs, with 53 snow cannons.
