Vars boasts over 185 kilometers of ski runs, making it a great destination for both beginners and advanced skiers. The resort is part of the vast La Forêt Blanche ski area, ensuring plenty of options for exploration.

The ski area of Vars is in the French Alps at an altitude of 1,850m.

Vars is part of the La Forêt Blanche ski area with access to 108 marked pistes, served by a total of 59 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Vars itself (64 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other La Forêt Blanche ski resort of Risoul.

The ski resort itself is at 1,850m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,750m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

The longest possible descent in Vars is 8km long and the most difficult run is the 'Coni'.

The mountains of Vars reach elevations of up to 2,750 meters, featuring diverse ski areas like the Chabrières and Peynier sectors. Notable pistes include the long blue run of 'Les Clots' and the challenging 'Piste de l'Envers', with efficient lifts such as the Chabrières gondola providing quick access to the slopes.

Vars offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate and Beginner skiers.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Vars is Turin Cuneo, 129 minutes drive away.

Dole–Jura, Turin Caselle, Berne and Marseille Provence airports are all within three hours drive.

To reach Vars, the nearest major airports are Nice Côte d'Azur and Turin. From there, you can take a train or shuttle service to the resort, ensuring a convenient journey to your skiing adventure.
