Skiing

The Bláfjöll mountains rise to an elevation of 1,000 meters, featuring several ski areas with diverse terrain. Notable pistes include the blue runs of Kaldidalur and the challenging black runs of Bláfjalla, served by efficient lifts like the Bláfjöll Express.

Bláfjöll offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate and Beginner skiers.

Snowboarding

Snowboarders will enjoy the well-maintained terrain parks, including the popular Bláfjöll Park, which features a range of jumps and rails suitable for all levels. The resort also offers ample off-piste opportunities for adventurous riders.

How to get there

Bláfjöll is easily accessible from Reykjavík, located about 30 kilometers away. The most convenient route is via Route 1, followed by Route 41, which leads directly to the resort.

Season Dates

When is Bláfjöll open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is late November (Opens when cold enough for snowmaking/adequate snow cover - usually by mid-November), and usual closing is Early May (Usually closes May 1st. Season may be extended later in to May if conditions good).

NOTE:- Ski area, lift and piste opening is subject to Current Snow Conditions.

Aprés Ski

After a day on the slopes, unwind at the cozy café, or enjoy a drink at the Bláfjöll bar. For dining, the resort's restaurant serves delicious Icelandic cuisine, making it a great spot to relax with friends.
