The mild weather that has been hanging around The Alps for the past week or so has begun to loosen its grip, and temperatures are falling.Weather and Snow Next Week
Much of France, Italy and Switzerland will see seasonal temperatures become the norm within the next couple of days. Austria may remain mild a day or two longer but nonetheless will be feeling a lot nippier within the next week.
Combined with the fall in temperatures is a fair chunk of precipitation. Significant snowfalls are expected across much of the Alpine region.
France, Italy and Switzerland are in line for widespread accumulations of 30cm or more. Although it will vary widely, snow should be falling to 1500m during Monday - with the snow line down to 1000m on Monday night. Further snow should fall through Tuesday with clearer weather following.
Austrian resorts will likey see a little less, but snowfall will still be over a wide area.
Further South, the Pyrenees should see widespread snow through much of the week. Probably starting late on Sunday, the snow line will be to 1500m in most areas.
