Verbier Announces Season Opening This Saturday

Verbier has announced it is opening for its 26-27 ski season this Saturday, 7 November.
Skiing kicks off at Lac des Vaux, with the lifts opening at weekends throughout November.
Free coffee and croissants are being offered to the first skiers arriving on Saturday morning and The Flocon Restaurant and Médran Café will also be open.
There will be special early-season rates on day passes for the limited terrain available.
The resort had hoped to open last weekend on 31st October but announced then that it had been too warm and dry, however recent days have brough consistent subzero temperatures and some snowfall.
Verbier will join about 20 ski areas in Austria, Switzerland and Italy that have already started their 26-27 seasons, most thanks to having glaciers, but several (including Kitzbuhel, also planning to open this weekend), thanks to snowfarming, recycling last season's snow stored through the summer.
