The ski area of Formiguères is in the French Pyrenees at an altitude of 1,700m.

Formiguères is part of the Neiges Catalanes ski area with access to 203 marked pistes, served by a total of 119 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Formiguères itself (17 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Neiges Catalanes ski resorts of Bolquère Pyrénées 2000, Cambre d'Aze, Cerdagne Puigmal, Font Romeu, La Quillane, Les Angles, Porté Puymorens and Puyvalador.

The ski resort itself is at 1,700m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,400m, snow cover is generally reliable.

Skiing

The resort boasts over 30 kilometers of skiable terrain, with elevations reaching up to 2,400 meters. Notable pistes include the long runs from the Pic de la Mine and the accessible lifts like the Télésiège du Roc.

Formiguères offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate skiers.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Formiguères is Perpignan, 91 minutes drive away.

Carcassonne, Béziers, Barcelona, Toulouse and Girona airports are all within three hours drive.

Formiguères is accessible via the nearest major airport, Perpignan, located about 80 kilometers away. From there, take the D117 road towards the resort for a scenic drive.

The seven ski lifts are able to uplift 5,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 6km of ski runs, with 2 snow cannons.
