Sestrière

Sestrière is a premier ski resort in the Italian Alps, known for its extensive terrain and reliable snow. With over 400 kilometers of slopes, it offers something for everyone.

Located in the Via Lattea ski area, Sestrière boasts a high altitude, ensuring excellent snow conditions. The resort features a variety of runs suitable for all levels, complemented by modern lift systems.

The ski area of Sestrière is in the Italian Alps at an altitude of 2,040m, with 400km of marked runs.

Sestrière is part of the Via Lattea ski area with access to 400km of downhill skiing, with 265 marked pistes, served by a total of 70 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Sestrière itself (400km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Via Lattea ski resorts of Cesana Torinese, Clavière, Pragelato, San Sicario and Sauze d'Oulx.

The ski resort itself is at 2,040m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,840m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

 Notable Ski Runs

The most difficult run is the 'Kandahar Banchetta', which is 3km in length.

Sestrière's ski area spans approximately 400 kilometers, with elevations reaching up to 2,817 meters. Notable pistes include the challenging 'Kandahar' and the family-friendly 'Sestrière', serviced by lifts such as the 'Bourget' and 'Sestrière' gondolas.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Sestrière is Turin Caselle, 87 minutes drive away.

Turin Cuneo, Annecy, Geneva, Genoa, Milan Linate, Lyon Bron, Milan Malpensa and Lyon St-Exupéry airports are all within three hours drive.

Traveling to Sestrière is straightforward, with the nearest major airport being Turin Airport, approximately 100 kilometers away. Regular shuttle services and car rentals make access convenient.

The 92 ski lifts are able to uplift 70,900 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 10km of ski runs, with 90 snow cannons.

When is Sestrière open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is early December, and usual closing is Mid April.
