Skiing

Aspen Mountain (Ajax) is famous for its steep runs, while Snowmass offers the largest area with varied terrain, including the renowned Big Burn and the Cirque. Buttermilk is well-suited for beginners, featuring the gentle runs of the Lower Tiehack, and Aspen Highlands provides advanced skiers access to the Highland Bowl. Key lifts include the Silver Queen Gondola and the Elk Camp Gondola, enhancing access across the resort.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Aspen is Aspen, 8 minutes drive away.

Vail/Eagle, Grand Junction, Salt Lake City and Montrose airports are all within three hours drive.

Aspen is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

Aspen is accessible via Aspen/Pitkin County Airport, with direct flights from major cities. Travelers can also reach the resort by driving from Denver, which is approximately a 3.5-hour scenic drive through the Rockies.

The eight ski lifts are able to uplift 24,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

When is Aspen open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is mid December, and usual closing is Mid April.
