Diamond Peak

Nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Diamond Peak offers breathtaking views and diverse terrain. It's a family-friendly resort known for its exceptional skiing experience.

 Summary

Diamond Peak boasts over 655 acres of skiable terrain, with an elevation of 8,540 feet at its summit. The resort features 30 runs catering to all skill levels, making it an ideal destination for families and seasoned skiers alike.

The ski area of Diamond Peak is at an altitude of 2,050m.

Diamond Peak is part of the Lake Tahoe ski area with access to 259km of downhill skiing, with 84 marked pistes, served by a total of 29 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Diamond Peak itself (30 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Lake Tahoe ski resorts of Boreal, Donner Ski Ranch, Heavenly, Homewood, Kirkwood, Mount Rose Ski Tahoe, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Palisades Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe and Sugar Bowl.

The ski resort itself is at 2,050m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,600m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

 Notable Ski Runs

The longest possible descent in Diamond Peak is 4km long and the most difficult run is the 'Solitude Canyon'.

Skiing

The mountains at Diamond Peak include the main ski area, which is renowned for its well-groomed trails and stunning views of Lake Tahoe. With a vertical drop of 1,840 feet, notable pistes such as the 'Crystal Ridge' and the 'Lakeview' run, along with lifts like the 'Comet Express' provide excellent access to varied terrain.

Diamond Peak offers good sking, particularly, for Expert and Intermediate skiers.

Snowboarding

Snowboarders will appreciate the terrain parks at Diamond Peak, including the 'Terrain Garden' which features jumps and rails for all skill levels. The resort provides ample space for both beginners and advanced riders to hone their skills.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Diamond Peak is Reno Tahoe, 40 minutes drive away.

Diamond Peak is easily accessible via Interstate 80 from Reno, which is the closest major city. The drive from Reno takes about 1 hour, providing stunning views along the way.

Infrastructure

Ski Lift Capacity

The seven ski lifts are able to uplift 7,900 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, with 52 snow cannons.
