Boreal is part of the Lake Tahoe ski area with access to 259km of downhill skiing, with 84 marked pistes, served by a total of 29 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Boreal itself (36 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Lake Tahoe ski resorts of Diamond Peak, Donner Ski Ranch, Heavenly, Homewood, Kirkwood, Mount Rose Ski Tahoe, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Palisades Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe and Sugar Bowl.

The ski resort itself is at 2,400m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,350m, snow cover is generally reliable.

Skiing

Boreal boasts a peak elevation of 7,200 feet with notable ski areas such as the Beginner Area, Central Park, and the advanced terrain of the Summit. Key lifts include the Boreal Express and the Castle Peak chairlift, providing access to a range of pistes suitable for all skill levels.

Boreal offers good sking, particularly, for Expert and Intermediate skiers.

Snowboarding

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Boreal is Atlanta, 23 minutes drive away.

Reno Tahoe, Sacramento, Chattanooga, Chico Muni and Modesto City airports are all within three hours drive.

Atlanta and Reno Tahoe are just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

Boreal is conveniently located off Interstate 80, making it easily accessible from major cities like Sacramento and Reno. The closest major airport is Reno-Tahoe International Airport, which is about 60 miles away.
