Verbier is a premier ski destination in the Swiss Alps, known for its extensive terrain and vibrant après-ski scene. With over 400 kilometers of slopes, it caters to all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

 Summary

Nestled in the Val de Bagnes, Verbier offers breathtaking alpine scenery and a variety of runs. The resort is part of the 4 Vallées ski area, providing access to some of the best skiing in Switzerland.

The ski area of Verbier is in the Swiss Alps at an altitude of 1,500m, with 412km of marked runs.

Verbier is part of the Four Valleys ski area with access to 412km of downhill skiing, with 205 marked pistes, served by a total of 92 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Verbier itself (412km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Four Valleys ski resorts of Bruson, Evolène, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Siviez, Thyon les Collons and Veysonnaz.

With ski lifts as high as 3,330m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

The longest possible descent in Verbier is 15km long and the most difficult run is the 'Gentianes - Tortin'.

The mountains surrounding Verbier reach impressive altitudes, with Mont Fort standing at 3,330 meters. The ski areas include notable pistes such as the famous Tortin and the challenging Bruson, along with lifts like the Medran and the Attelas, ensuring quick access to a range of slopes.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Verbier is Sion, 60 minutes drive away.

Geneva, Berne, Annecy, Turin Caselle, Basel and Chambery airports are all within three hours drive.

Sion is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

Traveling to Verbier is convenient, with Geneva Airport being the closest major hub, approximately 160 kilometers away. From Geneva, you can take a train to Martigny and then catch a bus directly to the resort.

The 17 ski lifts are able to uplift 41,328 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 42km of ski runs, with 52 snow cannons.

Season Dates

When is Verbier open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is mid November (May open weekends in November prior to main opening), and usual closing is Mid April.

NOTE:- Ski area, lift and piste opening is subject to Current Snow Conditions.
