Grandvalira Overview
Grandvalira is now one of the world’s 50 largest ski areas, and the biggest in the Pyrenees; with modern lifts covering much of North Eastern Andorra and even crossing into France.
Notable Ski Runs
The longest possible descent in Grandvalira is 8km long and the most difficult run is the 'Avet No Fifteen', which is 2km in length.
Skiing
The ski area is fed by parallel chair and gondola lifts from the bases at Soldeu and El Tarter, giving multiple options to access the high altitude terrain, minimising queues. Two large ski areas designed for beginners are Els Espiolet in Soldeu and Riba Escorada in El Tarter. Intermediates will likely enjoy the skiing in Soldeu the most, with mostly easy and intermediate pistes to ski.
The ski lift link to Pas de la Casa and Grau Roig opens up over 200km (125 miles) of ski runs best suited to intermediates. Expert skiers have many options, including the off-piste area of Pic d'Encampadana.
An 8-man gondola links Canillo into the system, from the base at 1500m up to 2100m where a quad chair lift goes up to 2465m.
There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

Aprés Ski
Soldeu El Tarter's bars and restaurants are popular in to the small hours and particularly busy at peak holiday times. Prices of food and drink are generally cheaper than elsewhere so apres-ski is good value.
