Schladming

Schladming is a premier ski resort known for its diverse terrain and vibrant atmosphere. With over 120 kilometers of slopes, it caters to all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

 Summary

Nestled in the Dachstein region, Schladming offers a blend of challenging pistes and family-friendly runs. The resort is part of the Ski Amadé area, one of the largest ski regions in Austria.

The ski area of Schladming is in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 750m, with 170km of marked runs.

Schladming is part of the Dachstein-Tauern ski area with access to 41 marked pistes, served by a total of 45 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Schladming itself (170km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Dachstein-Tauern ski resort of Ramsau am Dachstein. Schladming is directly linked by Ski Lift to the ski areas of Ramsau am Dachstein.

Skiing

The Schladming-Dachstein ski area features four mountains: Planai, Hochwurzen, Reiteralm, and Fageralm, with elevations reaching up to 2,700 meters. Notable pistes include the famous Planai World Cup run, while efficient lifts like the Planai Gondola and the Hochwurzen Cable Car provide excellent access to the slopes.

Schladming offers good sking, particularly, for Expert and Intermediate skiers.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Schladming is Salzburg, 70 minutes drive away.

Linz, Klagenfurt, Graz, Ljubljana, Munich, Innsbruck Airport and Trieste airports are all within three hours drive.

Schladming is easily accessible via major airports in Salzburg and Innsbruck, both approximately 90 minutes away by car. Regular train services also connect the resort to nearby cities.

The 25 ski lifts are able to uplift 63,900 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 175km of ski runs, with 120 snow cannons.

Usual opening is early December, and usual closing is Mid April.
