Abtenau is part of the Dachstein West ski area with access to 97 marked pistes, served by a total of 81 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Abtenau itself (80km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Dachstein West ski resorts of Annaberg im Lammertal, Gosau, Katrin - Bad Ischl, Krippenstein, Obertraun/Dachstein and Rußbach.
The skiing is at relatively low altitude, so snow cover can be variable.

How to get there
By Air
The nearest airport to Abtenau is Salzburg, 45 minutes drive away.
Munich, Linz, Klagenfurt, Ljubljana, Innsbruck Airport and Graz airports are all within three hours drive.
Salzburg is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
Abtenau is easily accessible from major cities like Salzburg, located about 50 kilometers away. The resort can be reached by car via the A10 motorway, with clear signs directing you to the area.
