Meran 2000

Meran 2000 is a picturesque ski resort in South Tyrol, Italy. It offers a variety of slopes for all skill levels amidst stunning alpine scenery.

 Summary

With around 40 kilometers of slopes, Meran 2000 caters to both skiers and snowboarders. The resort is easily accessible and provides a family-friendly atmosphere, making it ideal for winter sports enthusiasts.

The ski area of Meran 2000 is in the Italian Dolomites at an altitude of 1,600m, with 40km of marked runs.

Meran 2000 is part of the Ortler Skiarena area with access to 123 marked pistes, served by a total of 79 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Meran 2000 itself (40km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Ortler Skiarena ski resorts of Haideralm, Latsch Tarscheralm, Maseben, Mendel Ruffrè, Pfelders, Reinswald, Rittner Horn, Schnalstal, Schöneben, Schwemmalm, Sulden am Ortler, Trafoi am Ortler, Vigiljoch and Watles.

The ski resort itself is at 1,600m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,300m, snow cover is generally reliable.

 Notable Ski Runs

The longest possible descent in Meran 2000 is 5km long and the most difficult run is the 'Mittager Steilhang'.

Skiing

Meran 2000 features an elevation of 2,300 meters, with ski areas like the S. Osvaldo and the Piz. Notable pistes include the wide, well-groomed slopes of the 'Kühtai' and the efficient gondola lifts such as the 'Meran 2000 cable car' that connect various parts of the resort.

Meran 2000 offers good sking, particularly, for Expert and Beginner skiers.

Snowboarding

Snowboarders will find excellent terrain parks at Meran 2000, including the 'Funpark Meran 2000' which offers a variety of features for all skill levels. The terrain is well-maintained, ensuring an enjoyable experience.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Meran 2000 is Bolzano, 23 minutes drive away.

Innsbruck Airport, Verona, Brescia, Venice and Bergamo airports are all within three hours drive.

Bolzano is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

Meran 2000 is easily reachable via the A22 motorway, with the nearest major city being Bolzano. The resort is approximately 30 kilometers from Bolzano Airport, making it convenient for travelers.

The seven ski lifts are able to uplift 8,500 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 40km of ski runs, with 20 snow cannons.

Aprés Ski
