Gstaad

Gstaad is a prestigious ski resort in Switzerland, known for its scenic beauty and luxurious atmosphere. With a vast ski area and a charming village, it offers an unforgettable winter experience.

 Summary

Nestled in the Bernese Oberland, Gstaad boasts over 200 kilometers of ski slopes suitable for all levels. The resort is renowned for its upscale accommodations, dining, and vibrant après-ski scene.

The ski area of Gstaad is in the Swiss Alps at an altitude of 1,000m, with 250km of marked runs.

Gstaad is part of the Gstaad Mountain Rides ski area with access to 250km of downhill skiing, with 144 marked pistes, served by a total of 57 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Gstaad itself (250km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Gstaad Mountain Rides ski resorts of Château d'Oex, Saanen, Saanenmöser, Schönried and Zweisimmen. Gstaad is directly linked by Ski Lift to the ski areas of Anzère.

With ski lifts as high as 3,000m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

The longest possible descent in Gstaad is 10km long and the most difficult run is the 'Tiger Run'.

Skiing

The Gstaad ski area spans several mountains, including the iconic Wispile and the Glacier 3000, reaching elevations of up to 3,000 meters. Notable pistes include the long runs on the Wispile and the challenging terrain at Glacier 3000, serviced by modern lifts such as the Wispile gondola and the Glacier cable car.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Gstaad is Berne, 78 minutes drive away.

Sion, Geneva, Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, Basel, Annecy, Zurich and Chambery airports are all within three hours drive.

Gstaad is accessible via major airports such as Bern and Geneva, with convenient train connections to the resort. Travelers can enjoy scenic train rides through the Swiss countryside to reach this picturesque destination.
