Leysin is part of the Alpes Vaudoises ski area with access to 121 marked pistes, served by a total of 54 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Leysin itself (60km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Alpes Vaudoises ski resorts of Les Diablerets and Villars - Gryon.

With ski lifts as high as 2,331m, snow cover is generally reliable.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Leysin is Sion, 60 minutes drive away.

Geneva, Berne, Annecy, Basel, Chambery, Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, Zurich, Turin Caselle and Dole–Jura airports are all within three hours drive.

Sion is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

To reach Leysin, travelers can fly into Geneva Airport, approximately 1.5 hours away by car or train. The scenic journey through the Swiss countryside adds to the overall experience.

The 16 ski lifts are able to uplift 18,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 5km of ski runs, with 68 snow cannons.

When is Leysin open?

Usual opening is mid December, and usual closing is Mid April.
