Argentière

Argentière is a picturesque ski resort located in the Chamonix Valley. It offers a mix of challenging runs and stunning alpine scenery for skiers and snowboarders alike.

 Summary

Nestled at the foot of the impressive Mont Blanc, Argentière is renowned for its exceptional skiing conditions. With access to the vast Grands Montets ski area, it caters to all levels of winter sports enthusiasts.

The ski area of Argentière is in the French Alps at an altitude of 1,250m, with 30km of marked runs.

Argentière is part of the Ski Pass Mont Blanc area with access to 507 marked pistes, served by a total of 248 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Argentière itself (30km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Ski Pass Mont Blanc ski resorts of Chamonix, Combloux, Cordon, Le Tour, Les Contamines, Les Houches, Megève, Passy Plaine Joux and St Gervais Mont-Blanc.

With ski lifts as high as 3,280m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Skiing

The Grands Montets ski area in Argentière features over 100 kilometers of pistes, with an elevation ranging from 1,235 to 3,300 meters. Notable runs include the famous Pas de Chèvre and the Glacier des Granges, accessible via lifts like the Bochard and the Grands Montets cable car.

Argentière offers good sking, particularly, for Expert and Intermediate skiers.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Argentière is Sion, 53 minutes drive away.

Geneva, Annecy, Chambery, Turin Caselle, Limoges, Lyon St-Exupéry, Lyon Bron and Basel airports are all within three hours drive.

Sion is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

To reach Argentière, the nearest major airport is Geneva, approximately 88 kilometers away. From there, you can take a train or shuttle service directly to the resort.

When is Argentière open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is early December, and usual closing is Late April.
