Skiing
The resort boasts several mountains, including Rainbow Peak and Summit Ridge, with a combined skiable area of over 1,500 acres. Notable pistes include the Blue Sky Run and the challenging Black Diamond Trail, serviced by reliable lifts like the Rainbow Express and Summit Chair.
Rainbow offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate and Beginner skiers.
Snowboarding
Snowboarders will enjoy the terrain parks at Rainbow Resort, including the popular Fun Zone and the Freestyle Park, which are designed for all skill levels. These parks feature various jumps, rails, and boxes to test your skills.

How to get there
By Air
The nearest airport to Rainbow is Taupo, 4 minutes drive away.
Rotorua, Napier, Hamilton, Whakatane, Tauranga, Wanganui and Palmerston North airports are all within three hours drive.
Taupo is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
Traveling to Rainbow Resort is convenient, with the nearest major airport being Rainbow Valley Airport, approximately 30 miles away. From there, a scenic drive or shuttle service will get you to the resort quickly.

The six ski lifts are able to uplift 3,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, with 12 snow cannons.
Season Dates
When is Rainbow open?
We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.
Usual opening is Early July (Opening day is pre-opening day for members - public opening is the next day), and usual closing is Mid September.
NOTE:- Ski area, lift and piste opening is subject to Current Snow Conditions.
Aprés Ski
