Skiing

Hochkönig is part of the larger Ski Amadé area, with an elevation of up to 2,941 meters. Notable ski areas include the Königstour, featuring pistes like the long descent from the Aberg and the family-friendly slopes of Mühlbach, accessible via lifts like the 8-seater Aberg gondola.

Hochkönig offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate skiers.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Hochkönig is Salzburg, 60 minutes drive away.

Linz, Innsbruck Airport, Klagenfurt, Munich, Ljubljana, Graz, Trieste and Bolzano airports are all within three hours drive.

Salzburg is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

Hochkönig is easily accessible via Salzburg Airport, approximately 70 km away. From there, travelers can take a train or shuttle service to nearby towns like Maria Alm or Mühlbach.
