Formigal

Formigal is a popular ski resort in the Pyrenees, offering diverse terrain for all skill levels. With stunning views and ample snow, it attracts skiers and snowboarders alike.

 Summary

Formigal boasts over 180 kilometers of skiable terrain spread across five valleys, catering to beginners and experts. The resort features modern facilities, a vibrant atmosphere, and easy access to a variety of pistes.

The ski area of Formigal is in the Spanish Pyrenees at an altitude of 1,510m, with 137km of marked runs.

Formigal is part of the Aramon ski area with access to 202 marked pistes, served by a total of 72 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Formigal itself (137km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Aramon ski resorts of Cerler, Javalambre, Panticosa and Valdelinares.

The ski resort itself is at 1,510m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 2,200m, snow cover is generally reliable.

The ski area of Formigal is situated at elevations ranging from 1,500 to 2,300 meters, providing excellent snow conditions. Notable pistes include the long runs of the 'Tobazo' and 'Tres Hombres,' while lifts such as the 'Sallent' and 'Formigal' gondolas ensure quick access to the slopes.

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Formigal is Huesca, 96 minutes drive away.

Lourdes, Pau, Pamplona, Zaragoza, Biarritz and Lleida-Alguaire airports are all within three hours drive.

Formigal is accessible by car via the A-136 from major cities like Zaragoza and Huesca. The nearest major airport is Zaragoza Airport, approximately 170 kilometers away, making it a convenient entry point for travelers.
